Lorraine has worked in the events industry since 1979 and was a key member of one of the first laser companies in the UK. Her love of travel and "can-do" attitude led her to facilitating a large fireworks display for a local Royal family and laser displays for the Dubai Air Show, as her introduction to the UAE.
Lorraine then founded DLC to cater for the regions events with a new stock of lighting and AV equipment to fill the gap in the market. She has driven the company forward ever since, diversifying with market trends.
Lorraine has dedicated her free time assisting various animal charities in the UAE and manically hunting out bargains at second-hand markets around the world!
After graduating from the University of Manchester in 2005, Mark came to Dubai to teach snowboarding before joining the DLC team in 2007.
Since then, he has developed the company's conference division into becoming the leading provider of simultaneous interpretation and conference equipment in the region whilst also enjoying his work on the lighting and AV side of the business.
Mark lives in Dubai with his wife Carola, son Charlie and self-proclaimed head of the house, ex-street cat, Jasper.
Sam has been in the lighting industry since 1993, working for one of the largest lighting companies in the UK both on events and in the warehouse. His transition to the industry followed a disappointing rejection from the Royal Ballet Company and an elbow injury following a fall from a trapeze!
Sam moved to Dubai in 2007 with his wife Katrina and joined the team at DLC after six months working a freelance lighting technician. Since then he has enjoyed a working on a wide variety of events, specializing in lighting design and custom projects for DLC. Sam is a keen photographer and skier, and loves to travel with his wife and son Oscar on his rare days off.
James has a wealth of professional experience within the events industry. His technical knowledge encompasses lighting, rigging, sound and video, with a broad range of managerial experience covering live music, international and global conferences, bespoke corporate functions, large scale exhibitions, theatre and many more.
His career began in the British Armed Forces, where he first developed both his technical and managerial skills, before moving into live event/production management in the UK, GCC and global locations.
James lives in Dubai with his wife Sarah, son William and family cat, Zakk.
AB moved to Dubai in 2003 with his family. After completing his schooling in Dubai, he moved back to India to gain a university degree before returning to the Gulf. AB has spent the past five years working in event management and freelancing around the Middle East as an audio-visual technician before joining DLC full time in summer of 2015.
AB enjoys relaxing with a long movie, bowling with his friends, or barbecuing in the desert during the cooler winter months.
Liam has been in Dubai since 2007 and after finishing high school, he pursued further education in the UK. Liam joined DLC towards the end of 2015 on his return to Dubai primarily managing the wireless event communication equipment such as two-way Motorola radios , but then gradually working his way into other areas of the business.
Liam's enthusiasm stems from his genuine interest in the events industry and has led to him becoming proficient as a technician.
On his days off, Liam enjoys sipping pina coladas and getting caught in the rain.
Eldest brother Moon been in Dubai since 2003, joining DLC as Crew Chief in 2007. Currently the proud owner of every class of vehicle license possible to obtain and an indispensible member of the team.
In 2011 he brought his brother Maan into the company to run the DLC warehouse. Maan studied accountancy in Pakistan and loves to play cricket on his days off.
The last addition to the DLC family was 3rd brother Mutahir who is busy improving his English whilst supporting Maan in the warehouse.
Our newest addition, Tom, has over 3 years of experience within the events industry. He was invited to join DLC after working with Mark during a large event in Nairobi, and has been a part of the team ever since. Whilst Tom has only been in Dubai a short time, he has quickly grown to love working with the diverse range of people and cultures in the region, stating that it is a great learning environment. Always a positive energy on site, Tom's enthusiasm and determination has been a valuable asset.
When not working on a show, Tom can be found enjoying the summer sun and warm weather, of which he often speaks fondly.
Svend has been working with DLC since 2008 alongside a successful career in live events in the UK and around the world. He has won a number of awards for his work, including a BAFTA Nomination for Dancing on Ice, as well as four RTS Awards. He has also designed the lighting for many prime time TV programs and high profile live events, including Ant & Dec Saturday Night Takeaway, The Krypton Factor, several 'Audience With' programs for ITV, and The Brits 2007.
He has designed many of DLC's lighting projects, starting with a Royal Wedding in 2008 and more recently New Years Eve 2014 at the Burj Khalifa and the Burj Al Arab's 15th Anniversary (both projects for Ruggieri Middle-East).
